The proportion in the world has increased dramatically. In recent years, the production capacity and output of titanium dioxide in China have grown rapidly, becoming the world's largest producer and output of titanium dioxide. Titanium dioxide production capacity was only 340,000 tons in 2000. It increased to 2.43 million tons in 2011, an increase of 7 times. By the end of 2011, there were 40 TiO2 production enterprises in China with a production capacity of 10,000 tons/year or above, 8 medium-sized companies with 50,000 tons/year or more, and 3 large-scale enterprises with 100,000 tons/year or more. The number of titanium dioxide production enterprises has shrunk from 70 in 2000 to more than 40 in 2011.
The overall technical level of the industry has improved. Product quality has been greatly improved. In recent years, various enterprises in China's titanium dioxide industry have developed and introduced, digested, and re-innovated through various means. The products produced by the industry have been greatly improved in terms of structure, quality, and use. Special and special The anatase titanium dioxide products are continuously developed and mass-produced, and the multi-brand and multi-functional products of rutile titanium dioxide have come out one after another, filling some gaps in the domestic titanium dioxide industry, especially those produced by some large-scale backbone enterprises. The gap between quality and quantity and the advanced level in the world is greatly reduced, and some high-end products can completely replace imported products.
The number and level of exports have increased. All along, China’s imports of titanium dioxide exceeded exports, until June 2010 exports and imports were basically the same. Due to the improvement of product quality, the number of export-oriented international markets in the industry has also been increasing. In 2011, the import and export structure of titanium dioxide in China has undergone a fundamental change. On the basis of stable import volume, export volume has risen steadily throughout the year. The total amount of white powder exported reached 398,000 tons, which was 174.2% of the import volume of the year, making China a net exporter of titanium dioxide for the first time in history.
