According to Cai Weimin, secretary general of the tire division, tire rolling resistance is reduced by 20%, fuel saving can be achieved by 2% to 4%, mileage of tires is increased by 35%, carbon dioxide emission is reduced by 4 grams per kilometer, and each vehicle can save 23 liters of fuel each year. . Under the premise of not changing the body, using only green tires will enable the car to achieve better emission reduction targets. Therefore, the greenization of the tire industry will certainly contribute to the development of China's low-carbon economy.
Cai Weimin believes that China's tire industry should integrate resources and cooperate extensively with production, teaching, and research to innovate from the source of product design: in terms of tire shape design and tread pattern development, improve design and improve product quality; in terms of new materials, strengthen natural rubber, Researches on gutta percha, synthetic rubbers and skeletal materials focus on the development and application of environmentally friendly, light weight, and recyclable materials.
